Easy Smokey Eyes Tutorial

Hey Lovelies!

Hope you all are doing great. Today's post is on a simple and easy Smokey Eyes look which you can carry in the day as well as night time.

You can also increase or decrease the intensity of the color according to your choice. Smokey eyes look best with nude lips as we want all the attention on our eyes. Dark eyes go really well with the winter season. And the best thing is that you can create this eye look in less than 5 minutes. Yes, it is that easy. So, let's get started with the tutorial.

PRODUCTS YOU NEED
1. Light Brown Eye Shadow
2. Dark Brown Eye Shadow
3. Black Kajal Stick/ Gel Eye Liner
4. Mascara
5. Smudge Brush/Ear Bud
6. Blending Brush/ Fluffy Brush

METHOD
1. Apply light brown eye shadow all over your eye lid.

2. Now, apply a thick line of black kajal or gel eye liner on your upper lash line. There is no need to apply a perfect line because we are going to smudge it in the next step.

3. Take a smudge brush and start smudging that thick black line all over your eye lid. You can add the color according to your choice as how much intense smokey eyes you want. You can also use an ear bud instead of smudge brush to smudge that liner.

4. Now, take a blending/fluffy eye brush, dip it into dark brown eye shadow and start blending your crease area so that no harsh lines are there on the eyes.

5. For lower lash line, first smudge it with light brown eye shadow, followed by dark brown eye shadow. Smudge it well to get smokey effect. Apply the same black kajal or gel eye liner on your water line.

6. To finish, apply mascara on both upper and lower lashes.

See, how easy it is to achieve the smokey eyes. Do try it and let me know if it was helpful to you or not. Go for nude lips and peachy-brown cheeks with this look. See you all in my next post. Till then, take care.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes Review

Hey Lovely People!

Today's post is on these amazing Make-up remover wipes from Neutrogena. This is my favorite make-up remover till now. Can't wait to write all good things about it :D. So, let's get started.

These makeup remover wipes come in two types - one is this night calming (purple pack) and the other is I think the refill pack (blue pack). But both do the same job ;-).

WHAT THE PRODUCT CLAIMS: Clear away your makeup after a stressful day...

  • Gently and effectively dissolve all traces of dirt, oil and makeup.
  • Unique calming fragrance helps you unwind and prepares you for a good night's sleep.
  • Superior cleansing technology is so effective, it easily removes waterproof mascara.
  • Leaves skin thoroughly clean with no heavy residue, so there's no need to rinse.

AVAILABILITY:
INDIA - I don't think these wipes are available in any store in India. But you can find them online like on Amazon and Flipkart.
AUSTRALIA -  Easily available in drugstores, Target and online.

PRICE:
INDIA - Somewhere between INR 700/- to 800/- for 25 wipes
AUSTRALIA - AU $6 (approx.)

MY EXPERIENCE WITH NEUTROGENA MAKEUP REMOVER CLEANSING TOWELETTES:
I am very happy to say that it does fulfill ALL its claims. It removes even the heavy coats of makeup from your face. I just love these wipes as it is really easy to use them. Just take one wipe out and start removing the makeup. If I have done light makeup, just one wipe is enough for my whole face (including eyes and lips). But for makeup like on weddings and parties, 2 wipes are more than enough. I love the way it removes my eye makeup, without stinging the eyes\. It takes off even the waterproof liner and mascara also. These wipes are so hydrating that there is no need of washing your face and applying cream afterwards. This product is complete in itself. It removes all the traces of makeup, cleanses face and moisturizes it. But if you have oily skin, then I would suggest you to wash your face with water after using it and apply your own moisturizer. This product is my Best Friend for those tired nights when I just want to go to bed. I take out one wipe and just clean my face with it and I am good to sleep :-).

Lakme Absolute Bi-Phased Make-Up Remover Review

Hello Lovelies!

As we have discussed in the earlier posts, removing makeup thoroughly at night is very important for our skin. There are a lot of make-up removers available according to our skin type (dry, normal, oily, & sensitive). Some people like to remove makeup with oil and some with make-up removers. Personally, I like to remove my makeup with oil, specially my eye makeup because it does not irritate my eyes.

Today, I am going to review Lakme Absolute Bi-Phased Make-Up Remover which I have been using for some time now. So, let's see how it is ;-).

PACKAGING: It comes in a transparent plastic bottle with pastel blue colored cap. It has a pump from which the product comes out on pressing. The product inside is in liquid form and is pastel blue in color. I really love the packaging.

WHAT THE PRODUCT CLAIMS: The Bi-phased make-up remover has a unique formula that gets activated on simply shaking the bottle. The oil helps in lifting off the make-up while the water helps in deeply refreshing the skin. It gently but thoroughly removes all kinds of make-up, even longwearing and waterproof lip, eye and face make-up, leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth.

DIRECTIONS TO USE:

  • Shake the bottle to activate its formula.
  • Spray the product on a cotton ball and apply gently on the skin.
  • Wash the face with cool water.
PRICE: INR 225/- or 250/- for 60 ml of product.

AVAILABILITY: Easily available at departmental stores and on-line.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH LAKME ABSOLUTE BI-PHASED MAKE-UP REMOVER:
As I told you guys earlier that I like to remove my make-up with an oil, that's why I really like this product. It is a mix of oil + water. It removes my make-up thoroughly, even the waterproof make-up. Normally, I use baby oil to remove my eye make-up but this product is so gentle that I use this make-up remover to remove my eye make-up also. It gives a very smooth, satin feel to the skin. The oil helps in melting down the make-up and the special water helps in taking off it. I prefer to wash my face with a face wash after this but on some days when I am really tired at night, I just remove my make-up with this and good to go on bed :-). The thing I don't like about it is that it makes my eyes a little blurry after removing my eye make-up for a few seconds. But it does not irritate my skin and eyes. So, overall I really like this make-up remover. It is one of my favorites.

After one swipe of make-up remover

  • Does not irritate skin
  • Skin feels soft and smooth
  • Nice packaging
  • Good amount of product
  • Comes in a spray bottle
CONS:
  • Makes the vision a little blurry while removing eye make-up
OVERALL VIEW: It is an affordable, oil based make-up remover from a good and reputed brand which works decently without irritating the skin and also fulfills its claims.

10 Things You Might Be Doing Wrong For Your Skin And Hair

Hey Lovely People!

A Very Happy 2016 to you all. I wish this year to be your best year till now :-*. Most of the people make some resolutions for New Year which they try to follow and attain in that year. What are your New Year Resolutions? Let me know in the comment section below :-). My New Year Resolution is to save money for some nice holiday trip :-p.

I want you guys to add 1 more resolution in your list i.e to take care of your skin and hair. And that's why, I am going to tell you some things which you might be doing wrong for your skin and hair. I hope you change those wrong habits, if you are doing so, in this New Year 2016 and make your skin and hair healthier. Let's see what are those things that you might be doing wrong.

1. NOT WASHING YOUR HANDS BEFORE WASHING YOUR FACE:

Even I used to do this mistake earlier. But, then I realized that our hands are full of germs and dirt as we do all the work with our hands. At the time of washing the face, it is very important that our hands are clean as they are going to be in direct touch with the face. Do not compromise with your skin. It will take a few seconds extra but you will get healthier and problem-free skin :-).

2. NOT MOISTURIZING YOUR SKIN:

No matter what your skin type is, whether it is normal, dry or oily, you have to moisturize your skin. There are a variety of moisturizers available in the market for all the skin types. Oily skinned beauties, don't hesitate to apply a moisturizer on your face as there are gel based moisturizers available for you guys. Dry and normal skinned girls, have you noticed any dark patches on your skin? It's because your skin is not hydrated. Use a cream/moisturizer according to your skin type, not only for your face but for your whole body.

3. NOT USING SUNSCREEN LOTION IN WINTER SEASON:

Many people don't use a sunscreen lotion in winter season as the rays of sun, according to them, are not that strong. We all enjoy sun in winter season but that doesn't mean that its rays are any less harmful at that time. So, start using a sunscreen lotion and protect your skin from pre-mature aging, wrinkles, tanning and skin diseases.

4. NOT WASHING YOUR FACE BEFORE SCRUBBING:

We all know that scrubbing our face once or twice a week removes the dead skin cells from our skin and makes it soft and smooth. Scrubbing opens up our skin pores so that all the dead skin cells come out. If you do not wash your face before scrubbing it, all the dirt and impurities that are stuck on your face, will go inside your skin because of the open pores. It may result in acne, breakouts, etc.

5. NOT CLOSING THE PORES AFTER SCRUBBING:

As scrubbing opens up the skin pores, it is very important to close those pores so that no dirt or impurities enter our skin. For that, either use a face mask or ice cold water after scrubbing. Then, take a toner/rose water on cotton bud and gently apply it on your face. With that, you are good to go ;) and don't forget the moisturizer :-p.

6. USING THE SAME PILLOW COVER FOR A LONG TIME:

It is very important to change your pillow cover frequently as you lay down your face and hair on it every night and sometimes in day time also. The oil from your  face and hair goes into that cover. Also, the dirt and other impurities present in the environment get stuck on your pillow cover. So, it is advisable to change your pillow cover as frequently as you can.

7. NOT WASHING YOUR TOWEL FREQUENTLY:

Just like pillow cover, changing your towel frequently is equally important as it also comes in direct contact with our skin. So, wash your towel as soon as possible and try to use a soft towel for your skin.

8. DRYING YOUR HAIR WITH TOWEL:

If you are still using a towel for your hair after washing it, stop doing that from today only. It just makes your hair frizzy and dry. Try using a cotton t-shirt to wrap your wet hair instead and you will see how soft and smooth your hair has become.

9. OILING YOUR HAIR AND GOING OUT:

Oiling is very important for our hair to make them strong and long. But, oiling your hair and roaming around in dirt and pollution is a Big No. Oil attracts the dirt from the environment and it sticks on your hair, resulting in hair fall and dandruff. So, try to be at home when you have done oiling on your hair and go out only after washing it :-).

10. NOT USING HEAT PROTECTANT FOR STYLING HAIR:

If you are using a hair straightener or iron rod for styling your hair, don't forget to apply a heat protecting spray on your hair first. I won't say that it will keep your hair 100% damage free but it will definitely take care of your hair to a great extent.

I think, these tips are easy to follow. So, stop doing the wrong things and start taking care of your skin and hair from this year. Remember your new 'New Year Resolution'? ;-) See you all in my next post. Love you all :-*
