Beauty Uses Of Coconut Oil

Hey Everyone!

We all know that Coconut Oil is great for our skin and hair. But, there are a lot more beauty uses of this great oil which I am going to share with you all in this post. So, let's get started ;).

1. MAKE-UP REMOVER:

Coconut oil can be used as a make-up remover. I love to use it to remove my eye make-up as it is very mild and does not irritate my eyes. Those with sensitive skin can use coconut oil to remove their make-up as it will not irritate your skin. It not only removes make-up but helps in keeping the skin moisturized after that.

2. SHAVING CREAM:

Forget those costly shaving creams which you are thinking to buy. Apply coconut oil instead on the areas where you want to shave off those unwanted hair. It will not only make the razor to glide easily on your skin but will also make your skin soft and smooth after the wash.

3. NIGHT CREAM:

You can apply coconut oil on your face as a night cream before going to bed. It will hydrate your skin from within and you will see the glow on your face in the morning.

4. LIP BALM:

Many of us face the problem of chapped lips in winter season. Apply coconut oil on your lips every night before going to bed and you will get soft and smooth lips.

5. HAIR SERUM:

Not in a mood to buy those expensive hair serums in the market? Don't worry because you can still make your hair look shinier and soft. All you need to do is - take a few drops of coconut oil and rub them between your hands. Apply it on the length of your damp hair. And you are ready to go ;).

6. HIGHLIGHTER:

You can also use coconut oil as a cheek highlighter. It will make your skin look dewy and glowy. Just remember, apply very small amount of oil on your cheek bones.

7. UNDER-EYE CREAM:

Applying coconut oil under your eyes helps in keeping that area healthy and you will not get pre-mature wrinkles around your eyes. So, no need to buy those eye-creams with lot of chemicals in them. Start applying coconut oil as soon as possible.

So, these were some tried and tested tips by me. I love using coconut oil on my skin and hair. I have dry skin and coconut oil helps in keeping it hydrated. Girls with oily skin may avoid using it on their face fully as it may result in break-outs. Also, use an unrefined or organic coconut oil for your skin.

I hope this post helps you out in making your skin look more beautiful and healthier. Do let me know in the comment section below :). See you all in my next post. Till then, enjoy :*.

Today's post is about one of my favourite lipsticks which is long-lasting and matte. I love matte lipsticks. This one is by Colorbar and is really affordable. So, let's see what's with this lipstick ;).

PACKAGING: It comes in a sturdy silver colored case which is quite attractive. You can easily find this lipstick in your make-up kit as its packaging is very different from others.

PRICE: INR 500/- for 4.2 gm of product

AVAILABILITY: Easily available on all colorbar counters

MY EXPERIENCE WITH COLORBAR MATTE TOUCH LIPSTICK - TOOTY FRUITY:
My mum had this lipstick and whenever she used to wear this shade, her face looked very bright. So, at the time of my wedding, I thought to buy this lipstick and give it a go. I am definitely not regretting about this purchase at all. It's a very beautiful and bright fuchsia-pink color. As the name suggests, it's a matte lipstick but it has a creamy texture which makes it easy to apply it on the lips . It smells like vanilla ice-cream (yummmm). The staying power of this lipstick is just great. I went for a wedding with this lipstick on and it not only stayed on my lips for good 5 hours but also survived wedding snacks, drinks, dinner and sweet dish. How awesome is that, right? It does transfer a little but still stays on the lips for a very long time. I am so much happy with the long-lasting power of this lipstick and its shade.

PROS:
  • Classy and sturdy packaging
  • Beautiful fuchsia-pink shade
  • This shade brightens up the face
  • Affordable
  • Easily available
  • Matte-finish still not over drying
  • Creamy texture
  • Very long lasting (5-6 hours)
  • Survives big meals
  • Doesn't settle in fine lines
CONS:
  • Transfers a little
  • Its smell can be a problem for those with sensitive nose

OVERALL VIEW: It's a long lasting, bright pink, matte lipstick which is perfect for parties and weddings. I would definitely recommend this one to you all. Try it ;)

RATING: 5/5

10 Beauty Hacks

Hey Lovelies!

Today, I am going to share some beauty hacks with you all which will make your life a lot more easier. So, let's not waste any time and start with our 10 Beauty Hacks.

1. DARK FOUNDATION + MOISTURIZER

Many of us have atleast one foundation in our make-up kit which is darker than our complexion. It is really heartbreaking, not be able to use that foundation because they are expensive. So, if you want to use that dark foundation, mix it with a moisturizer (white in colour) on back of your hand and then apply it on your face. An easy way to use those expensive unwanted foundations.

2. PETROLEUM JELLY + PERFUME

If you want to make the fragrance of your perfume last longer, apply petroleum jelly on all those particular areas of your body where you are going to spray the perfume.

3. DRY MASCARA + HOT WATER

If your mascara is all dried up and you are not able to use it, don't worry girls because here is a simple solution to make it all new once again. Take a glass of hot water and dip your mascara tube/bottle in it for 15 minutes. And you can now use your mascara once again :).

4. EYELINER + EYE-SHADOW  ON WATERLINE

If you are facing the problem of smudged kajal/eyeliner on your waterline then here is the solution. First, apply kajal/liner on your waterline like you normally do and then apply an eye-shadow of the same colour on top of that. This way, your kajal will stay on your waterline all day long.

5. MASCARA AS EYE-LINER

Don't panic girls if you run out of your eye-liner and you need it immediately because your mascara will help you out ;). Take out your mascara wand and run your eye-liner brush through that wand to take out the colour from it. Start applying it on your eyes like you normally do with that eye-liner brush. Problem Solved!

6. LIPS + TOOTHBRUSH

It is very important to scrub your lips, especially when you are going to use a matte lipstick. Gently rub a toothbrush on your lips in circular motion. It will take out all the dead skin from your lips and your lips will become very soft, plump & pink. Simple as that.

7. WHITE/NUDE EYE-PENCIL ON WATERLINE

If you have small eyes and want to make them appear larger or open them up then use a white/nude eye-pencil on the waterline of your eyes. Try it and see the difference ;).

8. GLOSSY LIPSTICK + TRANSLUCENT POWDER

Do you have any lipstick which you are not using because you don't like its glossy texture? Girls, take out that lipstick because you can make it matte. Yes, you heard it right. Apply that glossy lipstick on your lips and pat some pressed/translucent powder on top of that with the help of a brush or sponge till you get your kind of matte texture.

9. CONCEALER AS EYE PRIMER

An eye primer is really important to make your eye make-up stay on for longer time. If you don't have an eye primer, you can use a concealer instead of that on your eyes.

10. EAR BUD AS SMUDGE BRUSH

A smudging brush is very important for a perfect smokey eye look and even for various eye make-up looks to give your eyes a softer look. If you don't have a separate smudge brush, you can use an ear bud instead.

All these hacks are tried and tested by me, personally. So, go ahead and try them out. Share your beauty hacks with me in the comment section below :). See you all in my next post. Till then, Take care and Enjoy :*

My Karwachauth Outfits

Hey Beautiful People!

I hope you all are doing great. Today, I am sharing some pictures of my Karwachauth Outfits with you all.

In the morning (at Sargi time), I wore a suit with medium length shirt and loose pallazo. I bought this blue pallazo from an exhibition at Radisson last year. I bought the shirt piece from market and got it stitched from a boutique. This dupatta was given by my mother-in-law which has a beautiful Phulkari work on it.

I went to Hotel Best Western, Jalandhar for a Karwachauth function. So, I changed my outfit to my Wedding Dress.

This lehenga is from Frontier Bazar - Rajouri Garden, New Delhi, India.

At that function, I was declared 1st Runner Up in Karwachauth Queen competition.

I hope you all liked these pics. Do comment in the comment section below and let me know :).

And now, some bonus pics for you all (some selfies) ;)

I accessorized my outfit with a Kundan neck-piece & earings and this beautiful head-piece (I love it).

My Karwachauth Mehendi /Henna

Hey Everyone!

I was very busy lately as it was Karwachauth on 30th of October and mine was 1st after marriage. For those who don't know what Karwachauth is, it is a festival/ tradition in North India where married ladies keep fast for a whole day for the long life of their husbands. I love this festival as young girls and married ladies apply mehendi/henna on their hands and feet. They also dress up beautifully, wear bangles, do make-up like they are going for some event.

I am sharing some pics of my mehendi/henna design and also what I wore when henna was being applied on my hands and feet. Enjoy!

On left, the name of my husband (Divye) is written on my hand in Hindi Language and on the right, my name (Akanksha) is written in Hindi. It was my idea to do that :).

On back of my hands, there is this floral design.

Again a beaiutiful floral design on my feet.

I wore a dress cum kurti by Global Desi. Underneath this, I wore a white pallazo pant by Westside. I love this dress because of its bright colours and peacock print, very apt for that day.

And next day, something amazing happened. My picture was there in a local newspaper 'Jalandhar Savera'.

I hope you enjoyed this post and had a great Karwachauth. Next post is going to be about my Karwachauth Outfit. Stay tuned ;).
