Bold Spring Eyes Make-Up

Hey Lovelies

Hope you all are doing great and enjoyed the long weekend. I was trying to do the Celebrity inspired look, this time Kajol's but it didn't go very well and it's been so long  that I posted something on my blog. So, I decided to show you this bold spring eyes makeup tutorial.

I have given this look, the Bold Spring Look title as it has a little smokey effect as well as some bright colors to it. So, if you liked this look then keep on reading the post.

EYE MAKE-UP BREAKDOWN

I applied the concealer all over my eye lids and patted some compact powder over it to make a long lasting base for my eye make-up.

First, I took eye shadow 1 from my Estee Lauder eye shadow palette and blended it really well on my crease area with the help of a blending brush. Next, I applied eye shadow 2 all over my eye lid with the help of a flat eye shadow brush. Then, I applied a thick line of the NYX black gel eyeliner on my upper lash line and smudged it well with a smudge brush, till I got the desired smudged look. Then, I took eye shadow 1 again and blended the crease area to blend out everything nicely.

For my lower lash line, I first applied Estee Lauder Pure Intense kajal Liner in the shade Blackened Black on my waterline. Then, I applied Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencil - Blue Topaz on the inner 1/3rd part of my lower lash line and Maybelline The Colossal Kohl - Turquoise on the rest of the lash line.

I finished the eye look by applying the mascara on both upper and lower lashes.

For the face, I applied the corrector, foundation, concealer and brows like I always do. Click here to check that out. I applied a peach blush on my cheeks and went for nude colored lipgloss. This one is by Chi Chi in the shade Flirt.

Celebrities Inspired Make-Up Look Series - #4 Priyanka Chopra on Maxim Cover

Hello Ladies

Today, I have come again with an inspired make-up look. As you have already guessed from the title, this one is inspired by Priyanka Chopra.

I love the make-up done on her in this one. I molded the look according to my taste and loved the outcome. Actually, I got bored of doing the matte eyes look. So, I decided to go for glitters this time. Also, there is one SURPRISE for you all. I am not telling right now but you will come to know as you keep on reading this post. So, let's get started with the tutorial.

MAKE-UP BREAKDOWN

STEP 1 - I started by applying my favorite corrector till now, MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW35 on my well moisturized face. I applied it under my eyes i.e. on my dark circles and wherever I had dark spots.

STEP 2 - After that, I applied Maybelline New Instant Age Rewind Concealer on all those areas where I apply it as always. Click here to see, in case you don't know or new on my blog. And, on the rest of my face, I went with L'Oreal Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation. I blended everything with a damp Miracle Complexion Sponge by Real Techniques in a patting motion.

STEP 3 - Priyanka's look in this is so flawless that I had to use my powder foundation to set my base and to get full coverage. I used MAC Studio Fix with the help of the sponge that comes with it. Again, I used patting motion and not rubbing it.

STEP 4 - Now comes the Surprise part. For eye make-up, I have made a small video for you guys, so that you can get some idea on what I mean with the things I write. I will write the names and colors of the products, below the video. Also, if you are reading this post via mobile, I am not sure if the video will play or not. If not, watch it on your computer.

1st Eye shadow palette - Estee Lauder Deluxe EyeShadow Compact - 1st shade is Sepia Sand and 2nd is Wild Sable.

2nd Eye shadow palette - Savvy by DB Eye Shadow in the color Black
3rd Product - NYX Roll On Eye Shimmer in the shade Onyx
Gel Liner - NYX Gel Eye Liner in Black
Kajal Pencil - Estee Lauder Pure Intense Kajal Liner in Blackened Black
Mascara - Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara

After doing all these steps, I applied the black shimmer roll on stick once again as I noticed that with blending, it faded away a little.
Also, I applied one more coat of mascara but this time Estee Lauder Sumptous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara.

STEP 5 - I used Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette in the shade Deep Brown to fill in the brows and give them a nice and clean look.

STEP 6 - Then, I contoured my nose, hollow of my cheeks and my jawline with Bronze Goddess from Estee Lauder Deluxe All Over Face Compact palette. I blended the lines really well with a buffing brush. For the cheeks, I used Chi Chi Bronzing Blush. It gave my cheeks a healthy pink color, just like Priyanka's.

STEP 7 - Next, I used a champagne colored eye shadow from my Chi Chi Glamorous Naturals Eye Shadow palette on my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, center of my forehead, cupid's bow and chin. I blended it all with a small fluffy/blending brush.

STEP 8 - I used 2 products for my lips and went for lighter pink lips than Priyanka's. I, first applied, a lip pencil by Essence in the shade Cute Pink all over my lips. Then, I applied, a glossy pink lip gloss in the shade Pink Pout from Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lip Gloss

And with this, the look is complete.

It was my first attempt on making the video. I know it's not that good but I really hope that you understood what I was doing in it.

So girls, see you all in my next post. Till then, take care.

All About Color Correctors To Hide The Dark Spots On Your Skin

Hello Ladies

Prior to be introduced to Correctors, I used to think that concealers are there to hide the dark spots on our skin. But I was never happy with the results as the concealer never helped me out in hiding my dark circles. I always wondered how do make-up artists do that magic of providing flawless look. I used to watch youtube videos a lot  (I still do) to learn make-up. From there, i came to know about correctors. So today, on a special request by a dear friend of mine, I am going to tell you all, about the correctors and also, how I conceal my dark circles.

DIFFERENT COLORS OF CORRECTORS
There are different colors of correctors to use according to the color of the spots. For example, if you have dark circles which are dark blue in color, then you have to use an orange colored corrector on that particular area. If you have red colored spots on your skin, you have to use green colored corrector over it. See the image below to understand the concept.

In this image, see the opposite color of the color of your dark circles or dark spots. If you have blue-violet colored spots, you have to apply yellow-orange (opposite to it) colored corrector over those spots to hide them. If you have red-orange spots, then go for the opposite color in this wheel, which is blue-green. So, this is how the correctors work.

PURPOSE OF THE CORRECTORS
Whenever I used to apply concealer over my dark circles, after some time that area used to turn greyish/ashy in color. The purpose of the corrector is to cancel out the shadows that the dark spots make on our skin and hides the marks very efficiently. Concealers help in brightening the face. Click here to see where I use concealer on my face.

WHEN AND HOW TO USE A CORRECTOR
First, moisturize and prime your face. Now is the time to apply the corrector. Corrector should be applied on the particular areas where you have dark spots. You can either use a blending brush to apply it or even your ring finger can do the trick. Apply in the patting motion and do not rub it. After that, apply foundation all over your face (this step is optional) and remember not to rub the areas where you have applied the corrector. Try to blend your foundation with a damp sponge. Next, you can use the concealer to highlight and brighten up the skin. Set your under eye area with a pressed powder with the help of the cushion that comes with it. Do this step gently without rubbing that area.

CORRECTORS FOR INDIAN/BROWN SKIN TONED BEAUTIES
The most common correctors for the Indian/brown skinned people are peach colored and orange one. It depends on how dark or light your spots are. The darker your under eye area/spots are, the more intense orange color you need. The lighter your under eye area/spots are, the more you go for peachy color. You just have to keep on increasing or decreasing the color intensity of the corrector till you get your perfect color.
If you are not sure about the color, take the help of the makeup artists at the makeup counters.

HOW I COVER MY DARK CIRCLES
I am NC30 in MAC. I also have dark circles. The corrector that I use is MAC Studio Finish Concealer in the shade NW35. It is orangy-peach in color.

I moisturize my face very well, specially the under eye area, and apply the corrector on my dark circles.

Then, I apply my liquid concealer under my eyes in a v- shape to hide that peach color.

With the help of a damp beauty sponge, I blend the concealer gently by just dabbing it under the eyes and not rubbing it.

Then, I use a pressed powder to set those areas with the help of sponge/cushion that comes with it.

So, you can easily tell the difference between the first picture and the last.

Sometimes, I add the foundation step before using concealer but I have seen that the less products you use under your eyes, lesser is the chance of creasing in that area. But you can add or subtract that step according to your need.

ORANGE LIPSTICK/CREAM EYE SHADOW AS A CORRECTOR - A BIG NO
The skin under your eyes is very delicate and thinner than the rest of your face's skin. So, there are special products for that area. You cannot use just any product there. So please buy a corrector according to the need of your skin.

CORRECTORS IN INDIA
You can find the correctors from the following brands in India -
1. Krylon
2. Clinique
3. Make-up Forever
4. MAC
5. Bobbi Brown
6. BH Cosmetics
7. Makeup Revolution
8. LA Pro Girl

There are many more brands you can find online.

I really hope this post helps you beauties in solving the dark spots problem. I know the feeling of having dark circles and that's why I yried to help you ladies out. Do tell me your views on this post. Which is your favorite corrector/concealer? See you guys in my next post.

MAKE-UP BREAKDOWN

Step 1 - I applied corrector under my eyes and on my chin where I have some dark spots. This peach colored corrector helps in cancelling out the dark shadows or spots.

STEP 2 - Rani doesn't have full coverage base, so I went with CC cream and apllied it all over my face with the help of a Flat Foundation Brush by The Body Shop.

Step 3 - After that, I used the concealer for some highlighting. I applied it under my eyes in V-shape, on the center of my forehead, bridge of my nose, cupid's bow and chin. I used damp Miracle Sponge by Real Techniques to blend this all out.

Step 4 -  Then, I set all the areas that I concealed, with MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder, so that the concealer does not crease.

Step 5 - Now comes the eye make-up part. First, I applied a white eye shadow all over my eye lid, to make an even base for eye make-up. Then, I took this medium brown eye shadow , in the picture below, on my crease area and blended it very well with a blending brush.

On my eye lids, I first applied this gold eye shadow from Chi Chi palette (the center one in the pic below) on the inner 1/4th part and the copper eye shadow (the last one) on rest of the lids. I went for a little shimmery/metallic texture in these two shadows than the matte. The first eye shadow from the palette below, I used it on my brow bone to highlight that area.

After that, I took black eye shadow and applied it on the outer corners of my eyes as well as on my crease area. I applied with a smaller brush and then blended everything well with a fluffy/blending brush. Then, I applied black liner on my upper lash line (except for inner 1/3rd part) and smudged it a little to give smokey effect to it.

I did not go for intense black eyes, but you can always make it intense by adding more of black eye shadow and black liner.

Step 6 - For my lower lash line, I first applied black kohl/kajal just on my waterline and taking that same black eye shadow on a smudge brush, applied on my lower lash line. I smudged it well to avoid harsh lines. And then, like always, I applied mascara on both upper and lower lashes, and defined my brows with the brow pencil to complete the eye make-up.

Step 7 - I went for a little contouring after that. I used bronzer and made lines on the hollow of my cheeks, upper part of my forehead, sides of my nose and on my jaw line. I blended everything very well with a fluffy face brush. This step helps in making your face more sculpted.

Step 8 - For my cheeks, I used Lover's Blush shade from the Estee Lauder palette as a blush. On my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the forehead, cupid's bow and chin, I applied champagne colored eye shadow from my Chi Chi palette (the first one) as a highlighter. I used a small fluffy/blending brush to apply it.

Step 9 - Rani's lip shade is so beautiful in this look that I couldn't think of any other shade than MAC Ruby Woo.

Here are some pictures of the final look of this make-up.

Remember that I am doing inspired make-up look so I did what I felt comfortable with and what suited me. You can increase or decrease the intensity of colors according to your choice. I hope you all enjoyed this look. Love you all. See you soon in my next post.

Outfit Of The Day - Boyfriend T-Shirt

Hey Lovelies

Today, I am doing a Fashion Post after such a longggg time. The problem is that there is no one to take pictures of mine. I mean, how much can you expect from your hubby:p Even in this post, I have taken pictures all by myself in the mirror, so I am sorry in advance if you don't like that. I so much wanted to do this post that I couldn't resist taking pictures like that. I hope you understand my situation and like this post :). So, let's get started.

Today, I wanted to wear something with sleeves at work but unfortunately, I have got none. Yes, you read that right, my wardrobe is full of sleeveless tops and dresses. So, I thought, lets have a look at my hubby's wardrobe. And Woahla! There were yellows, greens, grays, blacks, whites, reds all around. I couldn't resist and got my hands on a red, round-neck t-shirt. The best part is that my hubby wears size Medium. Yayyy! ;)

Here are the pictures of how I styled my hubby's t-shirt or boyfriend t-shirt or over-sized t-shirt.

I tucked the t-shirt in my jeans, so that it doesn't look really loose or hired ;D. I went for a little broad black leather belt rather than a sleek one. I folded up my jeans as I wanted it to be straight.

I didn't want to go for an 'all boy' look, that's why I wore these flats instead of shoes. But, I think, converse or sneakers will also look great with this. You can even go for high heels. And then I teamed up this whole look with this blue handbag and white leather watch.

And, here I go for work with these reflectors on a sunny day ;)

OUTFIT DETAILS

T-Shirt - Everlast (Hubby Dear's Wardrobe)
Jeans - Only (India)
Flats - Tresmode (India)
Handbag - Tommy Hilfiger
Watch - Salvatore Ferragamo
Sunglasses - Ray Ban

I really hope that you guys like this post. Raid your brother's or hubby's or dad's or best friend's or boy friend's wardrobe and give this look a try ;D.
